How to create and use Skills
Goal
Build a reusable Skill — a saved set of instructions the AI can call on inside any chat — instead of re-explaining a process every time.
Quick path
Click the Banks icon in the left nav, then Skills.
Click Create skill, then write it or upload a SKILL.md file.
Name it, add a description and instructions, and save.
Call it in any chat by typing / and picking it — or let it auto-call when it's relevant.
Step-by-step
Open the Skills bank. Click the Banks icon in the left nav, then Skills (next to Knowledge).
Click Create skill and choose how to build it:
Write — fill in a Name, Description, and Instructions (the methodology, rules, and format the Skill should follow).
Upload — drop one or more SKILL.md files. Each file needs its name and description in its own front matter.
Save. Your Skill appears in the Skills bank with a version number (starts at v1) — open it any time to edit, and BoodleBox keeps version history as you make changes.
Let the AI draft it for you
Don't want to write a Skill by hand? Call the built-in skill-creator Skill in any chat (type / and select it) — it walks you through authoring a new Skill conversationally and produces a SKILL.md file you can download, then upload via Create skill → Upload.
Using a Skill
Type / in any chat to pull up your Skills and select one — the same pattern as calling a bot.
Each Skill has its own Auto-call toggle (set from the Skills bank, either in the list or inside the Skill's own details) — turn it on and BoodleBox will call that Skill on its own when a message matches what it's for, without you typing / first.
Good to know
Skill names can only use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and underscores — other punctuation (including parentheses) will be rejected when you save.
You can rename, re-describe, edit instructions, delete, or toggle auto-call for any Skill you own from the Skills bank.
If two active Skills could both apply to the same message, there's no fixed priority order — the model decides which (or both) to use.
Skill sharing isn't available yet — for now, Skills are personal to your account.
Bringing a Skill over from Claude? Export it as a plain .md file, not the packaged .skill format — .skill files are encrypted and won't upload.
Verify it's working
Your Skill appears in the Skills bank, and typing / in a chat shows it in the list.
