BoodleBox terminology and glossary
Goal
Quick definitions of the terms you'll see around BoodleBox.
Terms
- AI Tools — pre-configured assistants for specific tasks; the set you see depends on your User Type.
- Assignment sandboxing — restricting which bots/models students can use in an assignment.
- Boodle Bots — pre-built bots organized into 35+ categories (Teaching, Management, Marketing, Legal, and more), including the EduBot series for education.
- BoodleBot (
@boodlebot) — the auto-routing bot that picks the best model for your task (also called Curio). - Bot stacking — using multiple AI models in one chat; each sees what previous models said, which enables cross-checking.
- Coach Mode — appends AI-literacy tips to each response.
- Custom bots — bots you create in the Bot Builder.
- External student — a student not on your team, invited to a specific class.
- FERPA "school official" — BoodleBox's legal designation that lets institutions share student data under FERPA.
- Free vs. Premium — Free (Boodle Basic) gives unlimited basic-model use plus 5 premium messages a day; Premium (Boodle Premium, formerly called Boodle Unlimited) gives unlimited access to all models.
- Knowledge Bank — your encrypted file repository; files must be explicitly attached to a chat or bot.
- Knowledge to Context Mode — loading a full document into the AI's working context instead of just the most relevant passages. Happens automatically when your request needs it; also available as an optional toggle once files are attached.
- Memory Mode — lets the AI recall past conversations (adds context, slightly slower).
- Message Mode — posts your text as a human message in a shared chat instead of sending it to the AI.
- Prompt modes — the four toggles: Coach, Message, Memory, Knowledge to Context.
- Token reduction — BoodleBox's technology that lowers AI cost and environmental impact without losing quality.
- Trust Center — BoodleBox's compliance and security hub at https://trust.boodlebox.ai/.
- Vibe Bot Builder — describe what you want and it writes your bot's instructions for you.
