How to organize a Box: move chats and use folders
Goal
Bring existing chats into a Box, sort them into folders, or take them back out.
Quick path
Move a chat in: open the chat's menu and choose Move to Box, then pick the Box.
Make a folder: in the Box's sidebar, click New Folder under Folders.
Take a chat out: open the chat's menu and choose Remove from Box.
Move an existing chat into a Box
Open the chat's menu in your regular chat list.
Choose Move to Box and pick a Box. To make a new one, choose Create New Box.
BoodleBox takes you into the Box and shows "Moved to [Box name]." The chat now uses the Box's instructions and files, and everyone in the Box can see it.
Only the chat's owner sees Move to Box. You can also move a chat from one Box to another the same way.
Use folders inside a Box
Click New Folder in the Folders section of the Box's sidebar. Name it and click Create.
Put chats in it. Open a chat's menu and choose Move to Folder, or on a computer, drag the chat onto the folder. To start a new chat right in the folder, open the folder's menu and choose New Chat.
Take a chat out of a folder with Remove from Folder. It goes back to the top of the Box.
Folders in a Box don't have their own permissions. Everyone in the Box can use every folder. For now, a Box has one level of folders, so folders can't go inside other folders.
Rename or delete a folder
Open the folder's menu and choose Rename Folder or Delete Folder. Deleting a folder doesn't delete what's in it: the chats move up one level. You can't delete a folder that holds other people's chats or files.
Take a chat out of a Box
Open the chat's menu and choose Remove from Box. You'll see "Moved out of the box, to your chats." The chat goes back to your regular chat list, and people in the Box can no longer open it. Only the chat's owner can do this.
Verify it's working
A chat you moved in appears in the Box's sidebar, under Chats or in its folder.
A chat you removed appears in your regular chat list again.
Still stuck?
Don't see Move to Box on a chat? You're probably not its owner. If you see "That couldn't be moved. Please try again," wait a moment and try again. Reach out through our contact form and we'll get back to you.
