Accessibility for students in Classroom
Goal
Complete a BoodleBox assignment using the keyboard, a screen reader, or zoom. This is also a reference for disability services offices.
Opening an assignment
Your assignments are listed under Classroom → Assigned to Me.
The assignment's title is the page's main heading, followed by its class and due date.
Reading the directions
The assignment page shows the directions, and a Learning Objectives tab if your instructor added objectives. Use heading navigation to move between sections.
Buttons in the directions, such as one that opens a bot, are named for what they do.
Chatting in an assignment
The chat panel works like any BoodleBox chat. The chat history is a list of messages, and replies are announced when they finish.
Open and close the chat panel with the Chat button in the header, which says whether the panel is open.
Not sure what the assignment is asking? Ask the chat. New assignment chats can see the assignment's directions and objectives.
Group assignments: each group chat is a tab above the chat. Press Tab to move between them and Enter to open one. A chat with unread messages is announced as unread.
Submitting
Submit is in the header. It opens a dialog that confirms what you're submitting; focus moves into the dialog, and Escape cancels.
Save & Exit keeps your work without submitting and returns you to your assignments.
Extra time
If you need extra time on a due date, ask your instructor, who can extend it for you.
Still stuck?
If part of an assignment doesn't work with your assistive technology, tell your instructor and us. See Requesting accommodations or reporting an accessibility issue.
