Color, contrast, and dark mode for low vision
Goal
Understand how BoodleBox keeps text and controls easy to see, and pick the setup that works best for you.
Readable text in both themes
Text colors are designed to meet the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1 in light and dark mode.
Small text only uses our two highest-contrast text colors.
Links and other colored text use a text-specific color designed to meet the same 4.5:1 minimum, whatever your workspace's brand color is.
Initials avatars, the colored circles shown for people without a photo, are designed for text contrast above 7:1 in both themes.
Visible controls
The borders of text fields, checkboxes and switches are designed to meet 3:1 against the backgrounds they sit on.
A focus ring shows which control is active from the keyboard.
Never color alone
Links in text are underlined.
Status, such as an error or a completed submission, is shown with an icon or words as well as color.
Switch to dark mode
Go to Personal Settings → Preferences.
Set Color mode to dark. Both themes are designed to the same contrast standard.
See How to switch between light and dark mode for the full steps.
Windows High Contrast
BoodleBox works with Windows High Contrast (Contrast themes). Switches, checkboxes, the current navigation item and focus rings stay visible.
