LMS integration FAQs

Goal

Quick answers to the most common LMS integration questions, including a clear picture of what BoodleBox's LMS integration does and does not do today.

What we do today

SSO sign-in via your LMS — supported through Edlink for Blackboard, Brightspace (D2L), Canvas, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Moodle, and Schoology.
LTI 1.3 launch — students and faculty click a BoodleBox link inside a course and land in BoodleBox without a separate sign-in.
Direct link sharing — assignment links (box.boodle.ai/s/…) and bot links (box.boodle.ai/a/…) can be pasted into any LMS as regular URL/link items, with no LTI configuration required. See How to add assignments and bots to your LMS with share links.

What we don't do (yet)

Grade passback — assignment status and scores do not flow back to your LMS gradebook. This is an active roadmap item.
Deep linking / content selection — instructors can't yet pick BoodleBox content from an LMS "external tool" picker; use direct share links instead.
Automatic class roster syncing into BoodleBox classes — in active development. Today, rostering governs team access rather than per-class enrollment.
Iframe embedding — BoodleBox should open in a new tab or window.

Setup questions

Do we need the LMS integration to put BoodleBox content in our courses?

No. Direct share links work in any LMS today without any integration. The LMS/LTI integration adds seamless sign-in; without it, students hit the BoodleBox sign-in page the first time.

Which LMS platforms have Edlink setup docs?

Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Moodle, Schoology.

User and account questions

A faculty member has a personal BoodleBox account and hits a conflict when launching through the LMS.

This happens when the LMS email doesn't match the email on their existing BoodleBox account. If the emails match, SSO auto-links to the existing account. If not, contact success@boodle.ai to consolidate.

Is the LMS integration available on free plans, or for students purchasing through the Bookstore?

No — like SSO, the integration is only available for users associated with a paid institutional team.

Roadmap

Grade passback, deep linking, and richer roster syncing are in active development. For the current integration roadmap, ask your Customer Success representative.
