What to do if you can't log in
Goal
Locked out of BoodleBox? Whether it won't accept your password, won't let you sign in at all, or lets you in to an account that looks empty — start with whichever description below matches what you're seeing. Each one links to the full fix.
Find your situation
| What's happening | What to do |
|---|---|
| You've forgotten your password | Reset it — see Reset your password |
| Your password is right but it won't accept it | You may sign in a different way. If your school set up BoodleBox, use the SSO button instead of a password — see How to sign in with SSO |
| No reset or verification email is arriving | Check spam first, then see What to do if your verification code isn't arriving |
| You see a 400 error | Your account probably isn't on your institution's team yet — see If you see a 400 error below |
| You see "email already in use" when signing up | You already have an account on that email — see Resolving "email already in use" errors |
| Your school isn't in the list when signing up | See Why you see "school not listed" when signing up |
| You get in, but your school's workspace and content aren't there | You're likely in the wrong account or workspace — see If you can sign in but everything looks empty below |
| The page won't load, spins, or bounces you back | See Clearing your cache and cookies |
| You see a different error message | See Understanding common error messages |
Before anything else, check these three
They account for most sign-in problems, and all three take seconds:
- The email. Use the exact email your account was created with. A personal address and a school address are two different accounts, even if they belong to you.
- How you sign in. BoodleBox has three routes — email + password, Continue with Google, and Sign In with Your EDU Account (SSO). They aren't interchangeable. If your account was created through Google or your school, a password won't work.
- Caps lock and autofill. A saved password from an old account is a common culprit. Type it manually once to rule it out.
If you see a 400 error
This usually means your account hasn't been added to your institution's team yet — not that your credentials are wrong.
- Contact your institution's IT department or BoodleBox admin and ask them to confirm you've been added.
- If your access was set up in the last 24 hours, wait a day and try again.
- If it persists, email success@boodle.ai with a screenshot of the error, the email you used, and roughly when you tried.
See Troubleshooting SSO and sign-in errors for the error-by-error guide.
If you can sign in but everything looks empty
You're in, but your chats, bots, or your school's content are missing. You're almost certainly in the wrong account or the wrong workspace.
- Wrong workspace. Click your initials at the bottom-left. Your workspaces are listed there and the one you're in has a check mark next to it. If that's your Personal Account, click your institution's workspace instead.
- Wrong account. If your institution's workspace isn't in that list at all, you're signed in with a different email than the one you were invited on. Sign out and sign back in with the invited address — see How to accept a team invitation.
- Two accounts by accident. If you've ended up with work split across two accounts, see Merging duplicate accounts.
If you use SSO
Sign-ins through a school or institution have their own failure modes, and a password reset won't help with any of them.
- Use your school email and the Sign In with Your EDU Account button, not the password fields.
- Ask your admin to confirm your account was provisioned — being able to sign in to other school systems doesn't mean BoodleBox access exists yet.
- See How to sign in with SSO to get set up, and Troubleshooting SSO and sign-in errors for specific errors.
Still stuck?
Email success@boodle.ai — typical response within 8 business hours. Include:
- The email address you're trying to use.
- Which sign-in method you're using (password, Google, or SSO).
- A screenshot of the error, including any code.
- Roughly when you tried, and your institution if you have one.
